Many people have questions about their party affiliation for the primary and whether or not they are eligible to vote for the candidate of their choice.  From the Ohio Secretary of State website:

In a primary election, how do I establish which political party’s ballot I am entitled to vote?

You may vote the primary ballot of the political party with which you currently wish to be affiliated. If you wish to vote a party’s ballot different from what you voted in 2008 or 2009, you must complete a statement at your polling place confirming the change in your political party affiliation.

When you arrive at your polling place for the May 4th primary, you will be asked your party affiliation.  If the poll worker finds that your affiliation has changed since the last time you declared your affiliation, he or she may ask you to complete a statement confirming the change.

If you haven't previously declared your affiliation, you can do so for the first time on May 4th!  Todd would be honored to have your vote.

On Wednesday evening, the Summit County Board of Elections posted the names of the official candidates for the May 4, 2010 primary. Conservative Todd Sharkey will face five other candidates for the Republican nomination to the 13th Congressional District. Sharkey said, "It is great to see so many candidates. This race will not be won by the candidate with the biggest name, but by the candidate that can prove to the conservative base of the party that they are a true conservative candidate and will stand up for them in Washington"

Liberal Democrat Betty Sutton will face Justin Wooden, a pro-life Democrat from North Canton, who is positioning himself as a fiscal conservative. Sharkey think Sutton can be beaten.  "Betty should win this primary race and many experts favor her to win re-election come November. But not all the experts think her re-election is a foregone conclusion. The right conservative candidate with the right values will win this race."
